Full-Time Teller and Part-Time Teller                                   

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of duties and responsibilities related to the delivery of transaction services to credit union members.  Cross-sells credit union products and services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Receive shares and loan payments.

Record and issue transaction receipts

Handle withdrawals.

Handle deposits.

Sell money orders and travelers checks to members.

Handle mail transactions and mail receipts

Receive checks for deposit, verify proper endorsement.

Account for all monies.

Handle miscellaneous cash transactions.

Balance cash drawer and make settlement of day’s activities.

Answer members’ inquiries or refer questions to appropriate department.

Cross-sell credit union products and services.

Maintain office stock supply.

General typing, filing, computer input and other miscellaneous duties.

Develop a working knowledge of the credit union’s data processing usage.

Develop an understanding of credit union policies, by-laws, and operational procedures.

May be responsible for additional duties to support Member Services.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by management.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Excellent communication skills

Basic Math and English skills

Well organized and a team player

Computer experience

May be required to stand for extended periods of time (i.e. serving members at the teller line)

May also be required to lift and transport bags of coin and currency to vaults or cash drawers.

Mortgage Loan Officer

Job Responsibilities:

Arrha Credit Union is looking for seasoned energetic Loan Officers who wish to join a dynamic and growing credit union located in Western Massachusetts.  We are seeking out new teammates to cover the northern CT and western MA areas.  The Mortgage Loan Officer will be responsible for developing a referral network, attracting leads, discussing client’s needs, recommending the best loan products, helping members put together a complete loan package and working with the processing team throughout the loan cycle.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of closing $1,000,000 or more in monthly mortgage loan volume.
  • Thorough knowledge of secondary market guidelines required; FHA, VA, USDA knowledge preferred.
  • Current registration under the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry.
  • 3+ years’ experience in the mortgage loan industry.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Primary Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Attracts new mortgage loan applications by developing relationships both in the real estate community, and outside, in order to maintain a consistent referral stream.
  • Makes sales calls to prospective loan applicants.
  • Meet with applicants to determine their needs and recommend the right loan products to help meet their goals.
  • Pre-qualifies potential loan applicants by analyzing credit and financial background.
  • Review active loan files each day to ensure timely closings.
  • Provides applicants with information regarding the loan application process.
  • Obtains complete loan applications including all supporting documentation needed to process the loan.
  • Reviews information by examining application and documentation, reviewing credit worthiness, calculating repayment risk from information and documentation received from the borrowers.
  • Follows up on processing the loan by obtaining additional applicant information if necessary.
  • Maintains communication with the borrower from time of application through closing.
  • Within the pricing and rate structure established by the credit union, set the rate with the borrower both verbally and in writing prior to settlement.
  • Understands and supports the company's policies and procedures to provide service in the best interests of our members and the credit union.
  • Resolves any member questions and disputes in an expeditious and tactful manner.
  • Reviews and reports complaints from members and recommends corrective action to management.
  • Protects the credit union and the members by keeping personal information confidential.
  • Maintain the highest level of ethical and moral judgment when representing both the credit union and our members.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

RESIDENTIAL MORTGAGE LOAN PROCESSOR

REPORTS TO:        VP, Chief Lending Officer

SUMMARY:              Semi-complex to complex administrative, member service, and data entry position providing support to the work of the residential and consumer lending officers, in reviewing loan applications and files to ensure compliance with all state, federal and credit union regulations as well as secondary market requirements, entering them into the computer system, and arranging for closings, ensuring completeness of documentation and adherence to compliance issues.                                            

Requirements of the Position:

  • Performs a variety of duties pertaining to processing, closing and compliance for residential mortgage and consumer loans in accordance with Credit Union’s policies and procedures, governmental regulations and loan approval terms.

  • Effectively communicate status/issues throughout the process to all parties involved.

  • Verifies all loan registrations from all branches in the Credit Union’s loan origination system and obtains necessary verifications.

  • Prepares and sends all necessary compliance disclosures including Loan Estimates and time sensitive disclosures within specified time frame; sends out proper documents on denied or withdrawn applications and updates loan records in computer system.

  • Supports origination sales team with positive attitude and keeps the Loan Officer up to date with file and documentation requirements. Reviews loan files to make sure that all needed information, forms, and documentation are collected and complete.Monitors and processes incoming documentation, such as credit reports, flood certification and compliance documents in accordance with state, federal, investor, and credit union requirements.

  • Manage pipeline to ensure all commitment and closing dates are met as well as the Credit Union’s production timeframe standards, typically 30 days.

  • Maintain contact with members and follows through on mortgage applications in process, obtain necessary information and work with members and attorneys regarding paperwork, title searches, examinations, and the like.

  • Performs HMDA compliance review of loan files.

  • Orders appraisals and reviews in accordance with credit union and investor guidelines and ensures collateral values.

  • Responds to members’, loan officers’ and branch personnel inquiries on status of loans.Provide explanations to members on credit issues and other items pertinent to loan applications and closings.

  • Maintains strong knowledge and understanding of legal requirements and compliance issues pertaining to assigned work.Attends workshops and seminars on issues pertinent to loan processing.

  • Has strong interpersonal skills; position requires contact by telephone, email or in person delivering information to members, attorneys or vendors.Skill levels will require the ability to communicate with professionalism, tact and efficiency.

  • Other duties as they arise.

Supervisory Responsibilities:    There are no supervisory responsibilities.                                                                                                                                                           

Other Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or greater required.

Experience: At least two years of mortgage processing experience.

Skills:  Knowledge of lending products, activities, and related records, as well as the Credit         Union’s policies, procedures, and compliance issues as applied to mortgage lending.  Ability to solve problems and to deal with people effectively. Candidate must be focused, self-motivated and have an ability to multi-task.  

Physical Requirements:   Mobility to move within the Credit Union. Ability to lift, bend, reach, and carry files.  Eyesight and hearing at a level that does not interfere with assigned duties.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in processing or underwriting to secondary market mortgage lending guidelines, including government lending.

  • Previous experience dealing with secondary market and compliance issue, especially HMDA.

  • College-level courses in accounting, credit analysis, and para-legal matters pertaining to lending.
